As of 5:30am the Special Olympics Iowa State Bowling Tournaments are on as scheduled in all locations. Please allow some additional time for driving due to possible fog and/or wet roads. There are no known travel or weather advisories for the area at this time.
The safety of our athletes, coaches, families, and volunteers is of the utmost importance to us and will factor into any decisions we make on changes or cancellations to the State Bowling Tournament. We recommend that each of you also take into consideration the conditions in your areas and along your travel route to the venues in considering whether or not you will be attending the tournament. If you determine that it is not safe for your delegation to travel to your assigned venue we understand and ask that you contact either Shane Kiesner at firstname.lastname@example.org

Finish Line will again conduct their holiday campaign from November 7 – December 31 at over 600 Finish Line stores across the United States. Customers will be asked to make donations at check-out to the Finish Line Youth Foundation. This year the campaign will solely benefit Special Olympics, with funds raised going towards Finish Line's annual commitment. Thank you to Casey’s General Stores for their incredible donation of over $33,000 following the Casey’s Cup Campaign this summer! Casey’s partnered with Special Olympics Iowa and the Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise funds for Special Olympics Iowa athletes throughout Iowa. We look forward to continuing our partnership!
On November 4th, Treynor Schools hosted a Unified Sports event for SW Area athletes. Athletes were trained in basketball and cheerleading by the high school athletes. SOIA athletes participated in basketball skills or 3-on-3 scrimmages or performed cheers and a dance routine.
