Esports

Special Olympics Iowa is excited to bring you esports tournaments featuring three different esports games.  This March athletes, Unified partners, coaches, and fans will have the opportunity to test their gaming skills against others from across the state.  Participation is free of charge.   Participants must own the games or have access to the games in order to participate.

Esports tournaments will be available to gamers across a variety of platforms and will feature the following games:

Bowling – You will need a PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or Wii and a bowling game. This will be a 6-week league-style series, athletes will bowl one game each week and submit a photo of their score.  Awards will be sent out at the end of the series.

Basketball – You will need a PlayStation or Xbox and any year of the NBA2K game. This will be a 6-week series, athletes will play a basketball game according to the schedule sent out by Special Olympics Iowa, then will submit a photo of their score each week.  Awards will be sent out at the end of the series.

Football – You will need a PlayStation or Xbox and any year of the Madden football game. This will be a 6-week series, athletes will play a football game according to the schedule sent out by Special Olympics Iowa, then will submit a photo of their score each week. Awards will be sent out at the end of the series.
