Join us for the 2021 Virtual Summer Games! This event is open to everyone (athletes, Unified partners, coaches, and fans) and is a safe way to compete against your friends and peers from across the state. Train and compete from home and come together virtually to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments.

This competition is a safe way for athletes, young athletes, Unified partners, coaches, and fans to keep the spirit of Special Olympics Iowa alive by competing against each other from home!
Here’s how it works:
- CHOOSE YOUR EVENTS! Individuals can participate in athletics (track & field), cycling, bocce, tennis skills, and swimming events.
- PRACTICE! After reviewing the list of events, begin practicing those events that you want to compete in. As you practice, be sure to keep track of your times/scores.
- SUBMIT YOUR RESULTS! Submit your best times/scores for all the events you practiced. All times/scores are due by Monday, May 24.

Virtual Healthy Athletes Screening Experiences
Virtual Healthy Athletes Screening Experiences are a chance for athletes to make contact with our Healthy Athletes Clinical Directors in either a one-on-one or group setting. This will be a time to go over many of the concepts that would normally be talked about at an in-person Summer Games Healthy Athletes Screening and check-in on your health status. Referrals will be recommended, where necessary, and care packages will be sent after the screenings to all participating athletes.
|Fit Feet Screening Experiences

Fit Feet Clinical Director Dr. Kirk will be available for 20-minute Zoom appointments to discuss foot health, footwear, and more. Appointments are available every 20 minutes from 5:00-8:00 PM on Zoom.
|FUNFitness Education Experience
(Tuesday, May 25 at 5:00 – 6:00 PM)
Discuss and practice concepts such as balance, strength, flexibility, and general fitness with FUNFitness Clinical Director Cindy.
|Health Promotion Education Experience
(Thursday, May 27 at 5:30 – 6:30 PM)
Complete a survey about your health habits. Then attend a Zoom session with Health Promotion Clinical Director Judy to see how healthy we are as a group, as well as get tips on how to improve your general health. Individual follow-up will be done after the session. Athletes will be sent a link with a survey about their health to complete prior to attending the session.

Developing healthy habits in and out of the gym is the key to success! Join Hy-Vee Registered Dietitians on this virtual store tour and discover ways to support an active lifestyle through nutrition.
