Special Olympics Iowa, the Iowa Tennis Association and the Bettendorf Life Fitness Center hosted an athlete and coaches training clinic on October 22.  Over 30 athletes and coaches received professional skills and competition instruction during the clinic. 

11-06-10  Coaches Cheer Certification and Athlete Training Clinic, Drake University

Drake University Cheerleaders and their coach, Leigha Shanley, taught over 20 Special Olympics coaches and 60 Special Olympics athletes new cheers, arm motions, jumps and dances. They worked together for a couple hours before sharing lunch and cheering together at the women’s exhibition basketball game that same day in the Knapp Center. Squads traveled all across Iowa to participate in this clinic at Drake University.
