    Over The Edge

Wednesday, September 16, 2015

The Financial Center • Des Moines

Make a "towering" impact
The fear of heights is one of the most common phobias in the world... but why let that stop you?  Over the Edge is a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to raise money and support SOIA athletes by rappelling off the 345-ft Financial Center in downtown Des Moines!

In 2014, sponsors and participants of Over the Edge raised more than $112,500 for Iowa athletes, giving them opportunities to participate in year-round sports, health and educational programming - and most importantly - experience joy, pride and respect.

Share the Dare
The whole event is an experience you'll never forget, and one you'll want to share with others!  Help us recruit rappellers or find another way for everyone to be involved:

Get Started!

REGISTER
Register online and set up your Firstgiving fundraising page.  All participants must register online.  Participants must weigh a minimum of 100 lbs and a maximum of 300 lbs.  Must be 14 years of age* by event day.  *Participants under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian to sign the waiver.

 COLLECT DONATIONS

Participants must raise a minimum of $1,000 to go Over the Edge.  Use your online fundraising page or collect cash and checks from your network of friends, family and co-workers.

SECURE YOUR RAPPEL SPOT
Once you reach the $1,000 minimum fundraising goal, you will be guaranteed a rappel spot and we will contact you to secure a rappel time.  Space is limited so fundraise early!

EARN INCENTIVES
Everyone who raises at least $500 is eligible for one-of-a-kind Over the Edge gear!

GO OVER THE EDGE!
This is a big building, one of the largest in Des Moines. A rappel of 345 is huge by anyone's standards!

Gather your co-workers
Have a meeting and get everyone on board!

Decide who's getting tossed*
Your fearless leader may not seem so fearless when it comes to dangling over the side of a 345-ft building.  Start a petition and generate excitement in the office so that your boss can't say no!

Register your boss online

Communication your team goal

Collectively, you and your team must raise a minimum of $1,000 to Toss Your Boss
*Your boss has the option to respectfully decline participation ONLY if they or the company match the donations raised by the employees.  Then the participation spot is drawn from all willing individuals who contributed funds!
