Monday, July 19th: Most our athletes will have preliminary competition or divisioning games today. This will determine who they will compete with in the finals. Many Team Iowa members also visited Special Olympics Town.

Sunday, July 18th: Team Iowa had practices in the morning. Tennis had a special treat as they were able to enjoy a clinic with tennis pro Andy Roddick. (See the photo link below for photos of Team Iowa tennis players with Andy) The day was capped off with a beautiful Opening Ceremonies. Thank you to our friends at the Law Enforcement Torch Run for getting the flame from Ames to Lincoln--it was a beautiful sight!! Also kudos to the University of Northern Iowa for creating such a beautiful cauldron!

Saturday, July 17th: Team Iowa enjoyed a wonderful send-off ceremony in Grimes, then boarded buses and headed for Lincoln. After a 3 hour trip, we arrived and had a restful evening getting accustomed to our dorm rooms.
