Sponsorship Opportunities:

Statewide Partnership

$25,000 or more annual support

Statewide Partners provide a comprehensive level of support of all programs and services offered by Special Olympics Iowa. Organizations may be recognized as Statewide Partners for financial support, in-kind donations or any combination thereof.

Benefits of becoming a Statewide Partner:

  • Prominently recognized in presentations and in publications generated by Special Olympics Iowa.
  • Listed on the left margin of every page of the Special Olympics Iowa Web site and are provided with a link to the site of the Statewide Partner.
  • Acknowledged in the "Athletes Hall of Fame" at the Special Olympics Iowa Headquarters and Training facility. *The facility attracts visitors from across the state to tour the building and participate in Special Olympics Iowa programs and training.
  • The Statewide Partner organization name and logo are prominently featured in Special Olympics Iowa recognitions, including: banners, newsletters and VIP recognitions.
  • A recognition plaque reflecting sponsorship of Special Olympics Iowa will be awarded to each Statewide Partner to display in their place of business.
  • The Statewide Partner organization name and logo are featured on of all volunteer shirts and/or bandanas, handbooks, general information packets, programs, competition banners and coach packet inserts distributed at every Special Olympics Iowa state competition.

Special Program Sponsors

$10,000 annual support

Special Program sponsors provide funding for one or more of the Special Olympics Iowa Special Programs.

Special Programs include:

  • Challenge Days- Challenge Day programs offer events that are specifically designed for individuals with severe and profound intellectual and physical disabilities. More than 800 individuals participate in eight Special Olympics Iowa Challenge Days each year throughout the state. To learn more about Challenge Days, please click here.
  • Unified Sports- Unified Sports is an initiative that combines approximately equal numbers of Special Olympics athletes and athletes without intellectual disabilities (called partners) on sports teams for training and competition. To learn more about Unified Sports, please click here.
  • Young Athletes Play Activity Day program is designed to provide play activities and socialization opportunities for children between the ages of two and seven, who have intellectual disabilities. This program was created to serve the children too young to participate in other Special Olympics Iowa competitions and events (minimum entry age being 8).   • The Athlete Leadership Program (ALPs)- ALPs is designed to educate and train individuals with intellectual disabilities in literacy, leadership and speaking skills. More than 80 Special Olympics Iowa athletes have participated in ALPs, and the demand for more sessions is great. To learn more about ALPs, please click here.
  • Healthy Athletes- Healthy Athletes is a screening program offered during the State Summer Games and the Mid-Winter Tournament to improve the greater overall health and fitness of athletes. Special Olympics Iowa coordinates the generous efforts of numerous medical professionals across the state donating medical screening services.   • Recognized on the Special Olympics Iowa Web site in both the sponsor tab and on the page(s) devoted to the Special Program.
  • Prominently acknowledged in  press releases, banners, newsletters and award ceremonies held in conjunction with the Special Program. * Many Special Programs are held numerous times throughout the year in various Iowa communities.
  • The Special Program Sponsor organization name and logo are featured on volunteer shirts and/or bandanas, handbooks, programs, and banners distributed at the pertinent Special Olympics Iowa Special Program.

Game Venue Sponsor

$ 5,000 annual support - Exclusive Venue Sponsor

$ 2,500 annual support - Joint Venue Sponsor

Game Venue sponsors provide funding for one or more of the Special Olympics Iowa competition venues. Examples of game venues include: State Softball Tournament, State Equestrian Competition, State Volleyball Tournament, State Bowling Tournament, Winter Games Skiing and Summer Games Tennis, Cycling, Bocce or Soccer.

Benefits of becoming a Game Venue Sponsor:

  • Recognition on the Special Olympics Iowa Web site in both the sponsor tab and on the page(s) devoted to that particular Game Venue.
  • Prominently recognized in all press releases, banners, newsletters and award ceremonies held in conjunction with the competition.
  • Game Venue Sponsor organization name and logo are featured on the volunteer t-shirts and/or bandanas, handbooks, programs and banners distributed at the pertinent Special Olympics Iowa venue competition.

Sponsor an Athlete

Sponsor an Athlete is a campaign established to cover the costs associated with the state competitions held annually in Ames, Dubuque and Iowa City. This campaign provides businesses, civic organizations and individuals the opportunity to support citizens of Iowa with intellectual disabilities.

The dollars raised underwrite the cost of renting competition facilities, housing and meals for more than 11,350 athletes and their Unified Sports Partners. As in all Special Olympics events, there is no cost for the athletes to participate.

Premier Partnership

$ 50,000 annual support

Premier Partners provide a presenting sponsor level of support for all of the programs and services offered by Special Olympics Iowa. Organizations may be recognized as Premier Partners for financial support, in-kind donations or any combination thereof.

Benefits of becoming a Premier Partner:

  • Headlining individual recognition during every presentation and in every publication generated by Special Olympics Iowa.
  • Headlining banner recognition on every page of the Special Olympics Iowa Web site and are provided a link to the site of the Premier Partner.
  • Prominently acknowledged in the "Athletes Hall of Fame" at the Special Olympics Iowa Headquarters and Training Facility and in an engraved granite paver in the garden Walkway of Champions. *The facility attracts visitors from across the state to tour the building and participate in Special Olympics Iowa programs and training.
  • Global Messengers have frequent interaction with the staff of Premier Partners to promote employee involvement and education about individuals with intellectual disabilities. Click here to learn more about Global Messengers.

  • The Premier Partner organization name and logo are featured at the top of all volunteer shirts and/or bandanas, handbooks, general information packets, programs, competition banners and coach packet inserts distributed at every Special Olympics Iowa state competition.

Special Olympics Iowa does not currently have any Premier Partners.
