What is the Polar Plunge?

The Polar Plunge is a unique event which gives individuals, organizations, businesses, and local law enforcement agencies the opportunity to raise funds for Special Olympics Iowa and take the plunge into the chilly Iowa waters!

How do I sign up to Plunge?

Participating in the Polar Plunge is easy!

Step One

Register online at http://www.firstgiving.com/soiowa or download a registration form and send it in.

Step Two

Raise pledges.  Each plunger must raise a minimum of $60 to participate.

  • Encourage friends and family to visit your online fundraising page
  • Link your fundraising page to your MySpace or Facebook account
  • Download our pledge form to collect donations offline
  • Ask your employer about matching gifts
  • The more you raise, the more you get!  View our list of incentives here!

Step Three

Turn in your pledges, sign the waiver, get your official Plunge shirt and take the plunge!

Sounds fun…what else do I need to know?
