Director of Regional Field Services (3 positions)

The Director of Regional Field Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, support and achieving financial goals set by the Special Olympics Iowa Board of Directors. In addition, the Director of Regional Field Services has the managerial and administrative responsibility for the program within an assigned geographic region of Iowa. The primary function is to provide assistance and guidance to Special Olympics programming at local levels in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures set forth by the Special Olympics Iowa Board of Directors and Special Olympics, Inc.  Duties will include, but are not limited to, oversight and coordination of regional operations; area director/area support; sports and training, administration, finance, fund development, volunteer development, outreach and public relations. Directors of Regional Field Services working base of operations will be located in the geographical region assigned (not SOIA headquarters in Grimes, IA).  Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree; experience in senior management; experience with Special Olympics or other nonprofit helpful but not required; successful background in fundraising; budget management; volunteer management; strategic planning and infrastructure development; negotiation skills; ability to work with diverse populations in public and private sector; valid driver’s license; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products; and must pass necessary background check.  The position will report directly to the President and CEO of Special Olympics Iowa.
