Each year Special Olympics Iowa serves nearly 11,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities and Unified Sports partners. We are committed to providing our athletes with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in athletic competition.
In addition to offering Olympic-style competition in 22 sports, Special Olympics Iowa offers a wide array of other services to develop literacy and leadership skills, promote inclusion, encourage health screening, and provide specialized equipment for individuals with severe and profound intellectual disabilities. Your gift also provides Special Olympics Iowa with the ability to serve over 2,000 coaches and 15,000 volunteers across the state of Iowa. The Board of Directors and staff of Special Olympics Iowa are committed to superior stewardship. 80% of all audited resources are devoted directly to the athletes and program services. Administrative costs are limited to only 4% of audited expenses. There are no charges for the athletes to participate in the competitions and events offered by Special Olympics Iowa.

Speaking Engagements – we welcome the opportunity to tell people about our organization. We are available to speak to corporate groups, civic groups, or private groups at your convenience.
